Nicotine and Nightmares : Vapingtl; dr I started having frequent vivid nightmares about the same time I started vaping daily (with nicotine) and was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar. So I've been vaping daily for about 9 months now, going through a 1. In those last 9 months I've been having pretty vivid intense nightmares 3- 5 days a week. I spoke to a nurse in the family and she said that when she has had patients that are cigarette smokers and developer something that forces then to stop smoking, in most cases pneumonia, they would put the patient on a nicotine patch. If the patch was left on when the patient went to sleep, sometimes they would have vivid intense nightmares, so now they inform patients to take the patch off when they go to sleep. The problem is, this family nurse is no fan of vaping. I think she's biased against it and may be trying to bullshit me. I tried doing some research on google but couldn't find any definitive information. So I was wondering if any experienced vapers on here have vivid nightmares as frequently as I or noticed a significant change in dreams since when they started vaping. As a side note, I usually vape from morning till night, sometimes stopping within an hour or two of going to bed. And if you look at my history you'll see I am drug user, mostly of alcohol, cannabis, psychedelics, stims (Adderall), and benzos (Xanax). The reason I mention that is because I started using drugs only 6 months ago, except cannabis and alcohol. I started using cannabis 2 years ago and for the first year I was smoking everyday and never had dreams, or at least didn't remember them, then I pretty much cut way back only smoking on weekends and my dreams came back. So weed may be the cause of this potentially, but I don't know, there was a 3 month gap between cutting back on cannabis and starting to vape where I had very vivid positive dreams. I don't think alcohol has had any affect on this and the rest of my drug use started after vaping and the nightmares. Lastly I recognize that everyone is different and don't mean to scare anyone or have this post come off as negative to the community in any way. I'm not looking for answers, just feedback. I would not say it is 'normal' but vivid dreams are a possible side effect of prescription doses of nicotine. If these are tolerable, then it may be worthwhile to using the patches to see if things change over time.
